Direct-to-film (DTF) and digital printing in Sun Prairie, WI
Digital and DTF (direct-to-film) printing deliver sharp, detailed prints with unlimited color possibilities. They’re great for short runs, personalized items and designs with photos or smooth gradients, for customers in Sun Prairie, Madison and across Wisconsin. Ameriprint has been in business since 1985.
With DTF, your design is printed in full color onto a special film, coated with an adhesive powder and cured. The transfer is then heat-pressed onto the garment, bonding the print to the fabric.
Because the whole design prints in one pass instead of one screen per color, DTF and digital printing handle photos, gradients and multi-color art easily. That makes them a smart choice for small batches and personalized pieces. DTF transfers can also be applied to many fabric types.

What is the difference between DTF and screen printing?
DTF prints your full-color design onto a film that is heat-pressed onto the garment, so it handles photos, gradients and many colors easily. Screen printing uses one screen per color and is usually the better fit for large orders with solid spot colors.
Is DTF good for small orders?
Yes. DTF and digital printing are great for short runs, small batches and personalized items. Contact us for minimums and turnaround for your project.
What fabrics can DTF be applied to?
DTF transfers work on many fabric types. Tell us which garments you’re considering and we’ll confirm the best option.
What resolution should my artwork be?
Send high-resolution files: 300 dpi at the actual print size for PNG or JPG, ideally with a transparent background, or a vector file (AI, EPS, PDF or SVG).
Can you help with my design?
Yes. Send your own artwork or work with our graphics team to create or clean up a design. Our design ideas and templates pages are a good place to start.
Can I pick up my order, or do you ship?
You can pick up at our Sun Prairie shop Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM. For customers outside the area, including Milwaukee, we’ll go over shipping or delivery options when we quote.
